4/20/14 - 11 months

I don't know why I get so behind with my blog, but I do. I couldn't let too much more time pass without posting about my nearly one year old little boy… can you believe it?

At 11 months (on Easter Sunday) Brighton is an incredibly good walker. He hardly ever crawls any more and is beginning to "run". His favorite game is to begin walking to an area that he knows he's not supposed to go to (like  Maggie's dog bowl) and then run when he hears us coming. He starts laughing and half the time he falls over because he's laughing so hard. It is so adorable! He LOVES to be chased around.

He is also still a great little eater. He'll put anything in his mouth that we offer or actually give to him to feed himself. It's a lot of fun having a kid that wants food so much. It's funny when he begins to scream because he wants what you have.

Bright is such a happy little boy. The only times he gets cranky is when he is really hungry and occasionally when he's tired. He loves to chase Lila around and wrestle with her. They are hilarious together. When one starts to laugh the other does too. :) They play really well together and although there is sometimes a struggle with sharing toys they overall share quite well. I'm such a proud mama.

Brighton and Lila in their "rocket-ship".

I can't think of any kind of food that Brighton doesn't like and there aren't too many activities that he doesn't like either. He doesn't really like being in his walker too much anymore, probably because he already knows how to walk. He doesn't like getting his diaper changed either, because he so badly wants to roll over and get away.

I'm so grateful for the sweetest little guy in the world! I love my children so much and I love that they love each other so much.

(I actually have a lot more photos of him at 11 months, but I'm saving them for my Easter post)

Spaghetti and Meatballs

Our cute little kidlets love spaghetti! It was the first time I had let Brighton just go at spaghetti on his own. He really liked it.

My favorite part of the whole evening was when we first sat down. Lila began eating her pasta then turned to me and said, "So, how are you mom?" Micah and I just started laughing. We thought it was so adorable that she was trying to start up a conversation at the dinner table.

Children are such a blessing!

Goldilocks

On Saturday Lila and I got our hair cut. If I can be honest, I was a little sad to be cutting Lila's hair. I just love her hair and was having a hard time letting it go. At the same time, I didn't want her hair to continue to be so much in her way. She had so much and it would get tangled and she hated having her hair brushed (even though I've been brushing it for most of her life).

I think now that she's had her first hair cut I won't be as emotionally invested the next time. We both had enough hair to have the chance to donate to Locks of Love so I had her hair and my hair cut a little bit shorter than I would've otherwise. She donated 10 inches and I went with 12 because I felt bad about all the gross split ends I had. In all I cut off 13 inches. :)

Here are some pictures of us before… (her beautiful hair. :( )

… during the hair cut…
She was such a good girl. I was worried, but she ended up sitting pretty well through most of it.

… and after. Isn't she adorable?!

A Day At The Zoo

This week has been my spring break. It's been a lot of fun. For the most part we've just been hanging out at home cleaning and relaxing. Today we decided to head to the zoo with some of my friends from work and their kids. There were four of us with our kids and strollers, but it worked out great and I'm so glad that we went. We got to see a lot of animals… I didn't take pictures of all of them. The only sad thing was that we didn't see the Gorillas. We meant to go at the end, but forgot. Oh well, it was still great!

Lila was VERY excited to go to the zoo. She just couldn't be normal in her pictures. :)

Here are some pictures from our fun day out.

I kept trying to get pictures of Lila in front of the animals and facing me, but she was just too impatient. She really wanted to look at the animals, which I can understand. Well, I snapped one of her looking at the animal and I thought it was funny. She seemed so focused on the animals, I guess this is what she must've looked like when looking at all the animals.

I loved these monkeys. There were four of them all cuddled up to sleep with their tails all wrapped together.

Lila and Maddi (to her left) looking at the Sea Lions.

She would stand at the fences like this with each animal.

Bright was very tired by the time we stopped to eat lunch, but he was a champ! He really liked the animals that moved around. I don't know if he could really see the animals that didn't.

I had to put two pictures of the three of us because neither picture has both of their faces showing very well. (Side note: while we were looking at the giraffes Lila got her little feet REALLY stuck between the fence slats when she was climbing up to see them better. A 7 year old boy helped me by wiggling them out. It was very sweet.)

Lila had a great time and she was wonderful! Such a fun day out!
