Australia Day 2016

As usual, Australia Day was really fun. I love celebrating this holiday and getting together with my family! We had such DELICIOUS food, played fun games, took pictures, and mingled with friends and other fellow Aussies.

My family that was there.
Look at the shirts my sister, Sarah, designed! Aren't they cool? It won't let me upload picture of the design, so hopefully you can kind of tell what's on the shirts.

My cute niece, Addie.

A few people trying their luck at Tim Tam Slams.

This year I made my kids' shirts. They were simple enough and I had a fun time making them. They're not perfect, but that's okay. ;)

Lila's

Brighton's

I also made Lila a bow.

I also made Lamingtons for the first time and Fairy Bread (not for the first time). SOOOO GOOD!

These are a picture of my sister Emma's because I didn't take some of mine. Her's are a lot prettier than mine, but they were all tasty.

Singing time!

As I mentioned, we played games. Classics like Tunnel Ball and Captain Ball were played with the adults and children… my children are SUPER good at them. ;)

Addie kept walking around inside the circle sharing her noise maker. :) What a sweet little girl!

My personal favorite is Pass the Boomerang. It's incredibly awkward, but it makes you laugh like crazy. Here are some of the awkward photos. :)

Notice who's missing? My son, of course! He was not interested in taking a picture. Oh, well… maybe next year.

We had a great time and look forward to next year!

New Year's Eve 2016

I know it's the last day of January, but I still wanted to post about our final celebration for 2015.

For New Year's Eve we decided to just stay home this year… as we have the past few years since our children are so young. It was a last minute decision to actually do anything that resembled a party so I kind of just threw some stuff together, but it turned out pretty great. I went to Smith's to pick up some fireworks and crowns and some pizza for dinner.

After dinner Micah went outside and lit some fireworks for the kids to enjoy from our bay window. It was too cold to send them out.

Brighton telling daddy that he loves him. :)

Once the fireworks were done, we decided to watch a movie and let the kids snack on whatever junk food from the holidays that they wanted to.

The movie we watched was "Inside Out". We hadn't seen it before, but we all LOVED it. (I know, we're a little behind the times on some things. :) )

After the movie was over, the kids went out on the balcony and lit sparklers with Micah. They had a lot of fun with them.

We then did a countdown to the new year that we found on Netflix, popped some confetti poppers,  drank Martinelli's and put the children to bed. I'm not quite ready to have the kids stay up yet. They're SUPER grumpy when they don't get enough sleep… let's be honest, so am I! They did get to stay up much later than normal, though.

It was a simple, yet VERY fun, evening!

This was the best family picture I could get. Excuse the hair, please. :)
