We Bought a House!

Micah and I just bought our first home. It's actually a condo, but that's still a home right? ;) It's in Saratoga Springs, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one car garage and built in 2004. We're very happy with the price we're paying and with what we're getting.

I can't wait to get in and start decorating it to really make it our own. It's been a dream of mine to own our own place and it's finally happening. We still have a while to wait as we got a rural loan and so we won't be in until October. We get it inspected on Monday and then it's just a waiting game.

I'm so happy that we were able to find exactly what we were looking for at a price we could afford and  feel comfortable at. We've been really blessed with how smooth and quick the whole process has been. Time to build some equity!

Once we get in, I'll post some pictures of our new place. :) Home sweet home!

Almost Another Emergency

Tonight, Lila got a popcorn kernel stuck up her nose! As soon as she did it, she at least told me so I was able to start working on it as soon as possible. Micah was out helping someone move so I tried all of the suggestions; pepper, "mother's kiss", baster, but they weren't really working. Finally, I called Micah and he came home to help. I kept up with the things I had been doing to at least be doing something. The "mother's kiss" seemed to at least help move it closer. We were really hoping we wouldn't have to go to the ER again (everything seems to happen to us on Friday nights), but we thought we just might have to. We really didn't want to use tweezers because of how far back it was, but when it got moved a little bit further forward, Micah, with his steady hand, was able to slowly and carefully move it forward bit by bit with the tweezers while I held a flashlight for him to see. Eventually he got it all the way out. Needless to say, Lila was TERRIFIED and I don't think she'll put a kernel up her nose again any time soon. Hopefully it will deter her from any behavior of that kind again.

Oh children… they sure do keep my heart pumping!

It's coming to an end...

My summer is at it's end. I have already headed back into my classroom. This post is just about some of the fun things I've/we've done this summer.

First, I got to throw my beautiful sister, Emma, her baby shower. I'm so excited to meet baby girl! It was rain shower themed with gray, pink, gold, and white as the colors. We had a crepe bar which was easy, but so yummy!

I wish I would've taken a picture of the food before everyone ate… oh well.

We played some fun games… the price is right, baby names a-z, my water broke, and a balloon baby, tie your shoe game (I have no idea what to call it ;)).

I hope that she had a great time! I know I did.

Then was my birthday and the 4th, but I already posted about that.

After, my mum's birthday came up and I got to make her cake for her. It's something I'm interested in getting better at. This is the first time I've really tried on a cake, so it's not perfect, but I'm very happy with how it turned out.

One hot summer day, I took Lila and Brighton to Seven Peaks in Salt Lake to go swimming with some of her cousins and aunts.

So much fun!

Lila took this picture of Brighton… yes, that's her finger.

Pioneer day came and I ran the temple to temple 5k with some of my sisters, my mum, Lila, Brighton, and their cousins. It was a beautiful run, but kind of a pain, too. Because I was pushing Brighton in the stroller I thought I would start back with the walkers. Bad idea! They would create walls and would not let me pass. :( Oh well. It wasn't about a good running time anyway.

Since then, I've headed back to work where our theme for the school year is based on the book Flight Plan. Good book. My team decided to make airplanes to hang in our classroom and take a beginning of the year picture in.

Here's mine: (Isn't the hat my coworker made for us so cute?! White scarf underneath… perfect.)

It's been a very eventful and fun summer. No complaints here! Happy Summer to all!
