Grandpa and Grandma Pratt

We got to spend all of last week with Micah's wonderful parents. They were on their way home from their mission in Palmyra, New York and were sweet enough to stay with us for a time. Having them here brought a wonderful spirit into our home and it was so great to see Lila interact with her grandparents that she hardly sees.

They really spoiled us while they were here by taking care of Lila, feeding us, telling us about their mission, bringing us REAL maple syrup, and allowing us to attend the temple together. It was so good to have them around.

Lila LOVED her grandparents. She would always ask for them and tried to follow them around everywhere in the house. They were the first people she looked for in the morning and the last people that she said goodnight to. Even after they left she kept on talking about how Grandma and Grandpa had gone to Texas.

We miss them and can't wait to be able to see them again!

Brighton's Blessing

This past Sunday we were able to bless Brighton.

The man of the hour.

We waited until he was 5 1/2 months old so that Micah's parents could be here with us. I'm so glad we did. It was great to have so much family around for the occasion.

The Hiltons and Pratts: There were four generations from Micah's mother's side here.
We were able to have more people participate in this blessing than in Lila's. There were actually representatives of Micah's family in the form of his father and grandfather. Members from my family included my brother Jared, and my brothers-in-law Ethan and Josh. My Mum and all of my sisters were able to come as well. We did miss my Dad.

It was a beautiful blessing.
I love these moments in life where we can get together as a family.

My side of the family, minus Rebecca who couldn't stay for pictures.

Just my cute family. :)

Thanks everyone for coming!

Jazz-Rockets Game

On Saturday night we had the great opportunity to attend the Jazz vs. Rockets game thanks to my awesome sister Emma. (Also, thanks Mum for watching the kids. You're the best!) We brought along my sister Sarah and Micah's brother Paul. Sarah and I are Jazz fans and of course Micah and Paul are Houston Rockets fans.
It all started out well for the Jazz. Enes Kanter became my favorite player. At the half we were leading by 16 points. It looked great for me and a little sad for Micah and his brother.

Well, it didn't take much time into the second half for the game to turn around. Let's just say we ended up losing by 11 points... 104 to 93. I was sad.

It was a fun night though... We sat in good seats, ate lots of ice cream, and just enjoyed the company of other adults.
Our ice cream bowl. :) I really liked it!

Our first night out together (apart from the temple the previous Wednesday) since we had Brighton.

Thanks Ems for the tickets!

Halloween!!!

This Halloween was by far my favorite in my life. It started with a wonderful day at school... the kids were so cute and our party was not overly crazy. It was a lot of fun.
Then, I got home and immediately got Lila and Brighton all dressed up for Halloween. This year Lila was going TRICK-OR-TREATING!!! She was SO excited, even though she didn't totally know what I was talking about before. She got the hang of it really fast.
We drove down to my Mum's to trick-or-treat at her door. I was hoping to surprise her and so I didn't call. Because of that, I got there before her... oops. It's okay though, we just went around her neighborhood. It was a great place to start. At each door she would say "trick-or-treat" then "thanks" then "bye" and sometimes she even blew kisses. It was adorable and oh so fun to watch.
After going to Mum's and stopping by Emma's for a short visit we headed back to our neighborhood to trick-or-treat again. We found Dad and Grandma hanging out outside waiting for trick-or-treaters. Every year we get so excited for people to come by and we are always disappointed. This year was supposed to be different. Our upstairs neighbors got lots of people coming by but they didn't know to come to our door. That's when Micah decided to head outside. It was a little late though. So it was again another disappointing year. We know better for next time at least.
By the time I got home again with Lila, Micah had given up and headed back inside. It was okay, though because we still had lot of fun.
We ended the night by watching, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" Then, Lila went to bed very content and very sleepy.
What a great night!

Here we all are: Micah, Waldo, a bear and a monkey. No family theme here. :)
