10 months old

This past Thursday (March 20th) Brighton became 10 months old. Yay! Exactly one week before, he took his first steps, and by his ten month "birthday" he was already up to 4 steps. He has since taken more. I think I can actually consider him a walker now. He just has to keep up with Lila, so I'm certain that's why he's progressed so quickly so early.

An example of destruction when Brighton spends his time with Lila. His co-conspirator.

Outside of his newly found walking talent he has grown in many other ways. I know I have talked about his appetite before, but I am not kidding when I say this boy is a voracious eater. It's quite adorable and quite frustrating all at once. He of course likes his bottle and breast feeding, but not like Lila. He is far more interested in regular food and those bolder flavors. (I think ;) )

He really needs a haircut. He doesn't have the same amount of hair that Lila did at his age, but when I compare how much he has with other babies his age or older I can see just how much he has. I LOVE it though! I've never had a bald baby, so I love when they have tons of hair.

Brighton still loves the water… I really hope this continues. He also likes bananas (a ton), peas (if they're really cooked), strawberries, potatoes, squash, pasta, and many, many other kinds of food. I'm just thinking of the basics. He loves to lay his head on your shoulder. He loves Maggie. He loves to cuddle and give kisses. He loves to laugh and smile as big as he possibly can. He loves to grind his teeth! (I HATE this, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me.)

He doesn't like to be left alone in a room when he first wakes up. He can't stand when other people are eating and he's not. There isn't much that he doesn't like. Happy baby. :)

He is again super drooly, so I think he'll be adding to his four teeth soon. When he wants to try and go somewhere and he sees us coming to stop him he'll take off very quickly in whatever direction to get away. He's our little sneaky one. He gets super excited when I get home and I love it! He still gets upset if I don't pick him up fast enough when I first get home.

His favorite person is still Lila, but I'd say Micah and I are tied.

We could not have asked for better children. We couldn't have asked for a better son. He is such a sweetheart. I love that I am going to have the chance to raise this little stinker! We love you Brighton!

Splish! Splash!

Brighton enjoyed his first big bath on Saturday with his sister Lila. Lila really didn't like baths for a long time and she definitely did not enjoy splashing, but it looks to be that Brighton is the opposite. I hope so. He really loved moving around, grabbing things, and splashing water in his face. Lila did such good job with her brother in the tub. I am impressed every day with how well she treats her little brother. I just hope it keeps up! They will be the best of friends.

By the way… his tooth appears to be just fine now. Time will tell, I guess.

Lila really wanted Brighton to be ready for the picture so she kept on pulling on him and trying to get him to say "cheese". I promise she's not trying to choke him. It was adorable! :)

Other bath time picture fun…
Lila created this beautiful house in the tub one day. Don't you love her rubber ducky crown?

All the black all over our tub is from Lila's bath crayons. Lots of fun but a pain to clean up.
