Easter Weekend 2016

I love Easter. I love all holidays, but I really LOVE Easter! We do the typical egg hunts and such, but we are also careful to make certain the kids understand what Easter is really supposed to be about. We have a great love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and hope that our children will feel and do feel the same way.

We started off the holiday weekend by spending time at Grandma McSweeney's house with family. We had a fire and enjoyed some food.

This is the treat that I brought... banana cream pie cookie cups. They were delicious, if I do say so myself.

Most of the cute cousins who were there.

Then, the cousins got to participate in an egg hunt. It was the only one my kids did this year, but it was great. They got so many eggs and other fun things. We love spending Easter at Grandma's house.

The eggs dotting my Mum's front yard.

Little baby Vance.

My dad also sent things from Australia for the grandkids and the big kids, too! We are so spoiled! Thanks Dad/Grandpa McSweeney!

My Mum gave each of the kids the book Gethsemane. It goes along with the Primary song. I love that song and so does Lila. She always says that it's her favorite. The pictures in the book are beyond beautiful as well. It's a great addition for our family.

Sunday morning, the kids got their baskets and new Easter clothes. I didn't get a picture of my kids in their outfits, but they sure did look adorable.

After church, we enjoyed a delicious meal. I didn't take a picture of all of the food, but I did take a picture of the bunny rolls that I made. So cheesy, but I love cheesy.

Happy Easter everyone!

Mommy-Son Date

For Brighton's date he wanted to go see some animals. First, we went and got dinner then we headed off on our adventure. Call me lame, but we just went to PetSmart. I was embarrassed at first about doing something so simple for him, but let me tell you, he LOVED it! He actually did NOT want to leave when it was finally time for us to go. We honestly were there for about an hour. Who knew it could be so entertaining?

I love the simple things. Just like with Lila, it was so much fun spending one on one time with my little guy.

Mommy-Daughter Date

This school year I seem to be busier than ever before. It may not be true, but it sure feels that way. Anyway, because of this, the kids have been needing some of my undivided attention. I decided I would take them each out on a date. I started with Lila.

She got to choose where we were going, so she chose the Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point. My kids really love that place.

My tiny little girl in front of the museum.

We actually got to spend quite a bit of time at the discovery area. We were the only ones there for quite some time. She was in heaven!

I did eventually put an apron on her...

She wanted me to take a picture of her hand prints. It didn't quite work out.

We also put together all of the dinosaur puzzles for the first time. We were able to do all of it, but honestly, I think one of them was missing a part because it was a little wonky and didn't quite match the picture.

She was trying to figure out where the pieces go.

All done!

She loved this little replica.

We had a great time and ended the night with ice cream. It was really fun just being Lila and me. We need to do it more often.

Dress-up Time!

For Christmas, Lila got quite a few dress-ups. We've had quite a bit of fun with them since then. :)

Lila is striking her best fighting pose! Brighton had just parts of the Anna costume on. He really liked it.

So serious!

Not so serious! :)

Switching costumes... Lila had on the whole Anna costume and Brighton struggled with it being little too big for him. We need to get him some of his own, I guess.

I had to ask her what she was doing... She was doing her best princess bow. Haha!

Ready for action!
